Author’s Report-Dana Lyon Rocked!

Yesterday, I spoke to about 300 4th & 5th grade students at Dana Lyon Elementary School. The teachers and parents in Bath, NY are doing something right; because the students were attentive and respectful and boy, did they ask some good questions! I got to talk about my two favorite things: reading and writing!

The students are just getting ready to write their submissions for a June Literary Festival. Judging by the great questions I fielded, there will be some interesting submissions. I will be travelling when the winners get to read their pieces, but I wish them all the best!

My favorite question was, “Was it fun to write Gaia Girls?” I hadn’t really thought about it being “fun”. But, in hindsight, when I really got to sit and write uninterrupted, it WAS fun! It was like being the first person to see a cool, new movie! I am not only the writer, but I was the first person who got to read Gaia Girls!
