Author’s Report-Ithaca

The Ithaca Festival and Sustainability Fair were wet, but fun! On Saturday, I read from the book to a group in Dewitt Park. On Sunday, we were under a big tent with a lot of other groups that like to help Gaia!

My favorite farmers, the co-op members of Organic Valley, were there. You should check out the Organic Valley website; they have some neat things , for kids to do. The reason I buy a lot from Organic Valley is they make family farm scale farming, profitable….as it should be!

Sierra Club, was also there. I am a member of Sierra Club. There is a lot of infomation about factory farming on their webiste. So, if you thought Harmony Farms was something I just made up for the book…you were wrong! Check it out. You can also find out more about their memberships; they fight things like factory farms!

I also met some Ithaca teachers. I hope they have me come up in the fall to talk to their students! If you are an Ithaca are student (or anywhere else, for that matter) tell your teacher and/or librarian that I love to visit schools!
