Green Festival-San Francisco
This has been my autumn of Green Festivals! I hade the great pleasure of being a guest of Organic Valley at the last Green Festival of the year. I signed books in the Organic Valley Kid Zone at the Green Festival in the amazing city of San Francisco.
As always, I met a lot of great kids. (Parents, if you want the full-sized version of any of the above pictures… contact me, and I will happily send you the file.) One funny moment happened when a gentleman noticed that the cover art of … Gaia Girls Way of Water resembled the famous Hokusai print called, The Great Wave of Kanagawa . (As readers know, this is for a reason!)
He rolled up his sleeve to show us his tatoo of the same artwork and just then, another gentleman stopped and started laughing. He rolled up his pantleg to show the SAME artwork! We took two pictures, one close up, because we thought it was such a funny coincendance.
It thought it was also a coincendance that the Monterey Bay Aquarium has an exhibit called Wild About Otters! It was such a bummer that we couldn’t stay longer in the area and go check it out. I had to get back to NY.
As you can see, Gaia got herself in trouble…again! In Washington DC, it was a lion. In San Fran, it was a hungry snake that thought an otter might make a tasty treat!
Were you at the Green Festival? If so, tell us what you thought was great! If you are in the Bay Area and have seen the Wild About Otters exhibit…I would LOVE to hear about it!

If I had known you were going to be there, I would have tried harder to find some time in my schedule to make it there. :/
