I am soooo excited to tell you about this event! For the past few months, I have been doing research for Gaia Girls Air Apparent at Cornell’s Lab of Ornithology.
During the Winter Break (Feb 16-24), Ithaca, NY proves that “Ithaca Loves Teachers” by hosting events and offering deals for NY State teachers. I’m pleased to tell you that ALL Gaia Girls fans will get a chance to tour the Lab and get a FIRST LOOK at Gaia Girls Air Apparent at the Gaia Girls Sneak Peak Party!!
The Lab of Ornithology is graciously hosting this awesome event and there is a LOT to do! You will get to hear an excerpt from the new book, meet illustrators Ann Welles and Carol Coogan, get books signed by the author AND the illustrators, hear music by Birds-on-a-Wire (who wrote the incredible, Gaia Girls-inspired Enter the Earth song!) eat Gaia-friendly snacks, start your own Gaia Girls Field journal, do cool crafts with EarthArts and tour the Lab and Sapsucker Woods. WOW!
I’m especially excited to “show” you how the audio recordings housed at the Macaulay Library are informing the creation of my new book!
You don’t have to be a NY State Teacher to attend (although you may want to tell your teacher about it!) BUT, seating in the auditorium is limited. To be sure to get a seat, call (607) 254-2473. There will be Gaia Girls books, Birds-on-a Wire CDs and Carol Coogan’s book of her “Backyard Naturalist” writing for sale that day.
