Fall for Fiction-Foundations
Let’s get going! A story has to sit on a foundation. For me, it starts with a character, spreads out to place and eventually the details click in. I usually walk around with a character in my mind, long before I begin the story. So who is our main character going to be?
- Boy or Girl?
- Age?
- Siblings, only child, raised by wolves?
More questions tomorrow, so check back!

terrafaerie says:
i think it should be a girl
probably around 10 is good(for the age)
i think she should be a sibling to two older brothers
squeekers says:
i think it should be a girl maybe around 12.
i think she should have an older brother, and a younger brother.
she is of age where she wants to do things on her own like her older brother. being the only girl tends to be a little hard. parents are normally overprotective of the girl. plus having a younger sibling doesn’t help trying to get your independance when they have to tag along.
Scout says:
girl of course haha
10-14ish?
and I agree with terrafaerie- two older brothers like 16+17
the5thgaiagirl says:
I think the main character should be a should be characterS ! A boy and a girl. They could be twins both 13 and with a younger baby brother and a 17 year old sister.
the5thgaiagirl says:
Oh yea and the baby brother should be like 17 months
veggiegal says:
I think it should be a girl who has a twin brother, an aunt who is the same age as her( it can happen)who would be her best friend, and an older brother who is sixteen. The girl would be 12 or 13.
adrie says:
I think the girl should be around 10 years old. She should have 5 and 7 year old little sisters, who she thinks are very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, annoying. OR she should be raised by wolves.
Tessa_of_the_Sea says:
I agree.. She should be around 10 years old.
… BUT I HAVE THEM ANYWAY!
12 year olds like me are too old to have adventures
She could be the youngest of thirteen siblings… and while her parents are busy with everyone else, she could slip away into the rushing ocean…
She should also be **practically*** raised by wolves. They are her best friends and teach her the ways of the mountains and *ahem* how to catch food. Sometimes, during dinner with her human family, she’ll forget and start eating like a wolf, then have to make excuses to cover it up.
lol
adrie says:
Oh, and the little sisters should always tag along and try to pick a fight. They should try to get involved just when she’s having her total gaia moment.
Starla says:
I think the main character should definitely be a girl around 12 or 13. I’m an only child so I think she should have an older sibling who gives her advice. Not so sure about the wolves though!
gajagirl says:
I think the main charater should be a girl around 11, 12 or 13. I think she should have an older brother who is really nice and gives her advice or she should be an only child.
raised by wolves??… maybe.
