omj the commercial part. The thing I really hate about commercials is the stereotypes. Like, during holloween, I saw this fruit rollups commercial, where it had two brothers jump out at their big sister, who did the “roll her eyes and scoff” thing. Then they showed her the tattoos of “scary” things and she screamed. What the crap was that? Do they really think crappy dollar store quality tattoos are going to scare people? And what was with the big sister? Why do they portray us as sassy whimps? It really made me angry. Not every girl loves shopping, shoes, boys, and are snots. And not every boy likes pranks, skateboards, “scary” things, and bothering big sisters. Mostly, why are girls the victims in all the commercials other than ones for baby dolls and “Mall Madness”? Grow up, commercial writer morons.
Rant over

Lee Welles-author says:
In my house, if the TV is on, all the commercials get muted! I generally have a book or magazine and as soon as commercials come on, I hit the mute a do some reading! I hate commercials too!
Scout says:
and this is probably irrelevant to how stereotyping and utterly annoying some are, but I hate it when your watching something real good and your really into and then BAM commercial.

p.s.- I took the High School Placement test yesterday and there was a passage about the greek god Gaia and I flipped out and I had to hold my mouth because in my mind I was yelling “GAIA GIRLS!! GAIA GIRLS!!” glad that test is over though. On to NYC!
Tessa_of_the_Sea says:
Congratulations on your test, Scout!
And yes, Ms. Lee, that would be the best way to not watch as many commercials. But the problem is, they’re just as stimulating as the actual shows

its so true…
we had a class on commercials and how they reel people in. Its sick a lot of times. Commercials are in a way abusive to the way you think and they can sometimes seriously change you
(and thanks, Tessa!!
