2 Days ’til Earth Day!

nix-earth-from-space.jpgWhat are you doing to celebrate Earth Day? I want to know!

If you need ideas, check out the Earth Day Network.  The US Government also has some good ideas. These are your tax dollars at work for Gaia!

If you’re feeling crafty about Earth Day, you may want to check out Kaboose.

coolio. My school had a poetry contest for Earth day we had to write and enviromental poem.this is my poem:

Sing the Song of our World.

A wild beauty unlike any other, growing without fail,
Growing to house, the gentle, kind, Quail.
The leaves that come back, every year,
Whisper in the wind for all to hear.
The tree, it is sturdy, living too.
    So old, so gentle,
    Who knew?
It saw more than you will ever see.
An Indian running through the sea of trees.
A wasp’s nest, hidden in its leaves, busily buzzing, as it pleased.
Ask the question, you have a right to know.
Ask if the tree will ever not grow.
    See that seed over yonder?
    Do you still ever ponder?
    This tree will never die;
Its seeds will keep passing by.
The light of life will never go out,
As long as its seeds are planted about.
And it will never be malnourished,
Mother Nature watches over it with flourish.
If we could all be so caring,
    Every fish, creature, herring,
    Will stay alive and bright.
A world, our World, needs us to care,
So the light of life still shines there.
Sing the song of our beautiful world of life,
Of creatures, of oceans, of plant life.
The song of our world rings out,
Bright and strong, ever lasting, oh so strong.
Surrounded by life, by movement and glory
    No more questions,
There will never be an end to this living story.

    Miss Lee-

Have you ever heard of cob housing?

It’s building a house out of mud and straw that doesn’t cost very much at all.

I’m starting one in my backyard right now!

Just wondering, because it’s a fascinating subject and I thought, as someone into being green, that you would be interested.
