Best Friend + Horses
This year my best friend and I decided not to buy each other “stuff” for our birthdays. (Mine is in March, hers in August) We thought DOING something fun together would be much more appropriate for a couple of Gaia Girls like us!
We went horseback riding in the Finger Lakes National Forest! It was beautiful and exciting and man-o-man is my butt sore! I have pictures and will upload them sometime this week. My horse, Maxi, was great. However, her and I had a different definition of “whoa.” She seemed to think it just meant, “go less fast.”
My friend’s horse, Scotch, was a character and a half…much like my friend! Scotch mozied along at the back of the line, checking out the scenery and snacking. On the way back, Scotch decided to lay down and take a nap…with my friend still on her back! Luckily, my friend is pretty good at bossing horses and somehow managed to yank Scotch back to her feet!
It was great fun and the turning leaves were amazing. I often wish I had the time, money and space for a horse. But now I know that when I get a hankerin’ to ride, I can go visist Erica and her awesome horses at Painted Bar Stables.
