Should Sea Lions Work for the US Navy?

Take a listen to this short piece on NPR, All Things Considered. It is about the Navy’s use of sea lions, seals, & dolphins for national security.
What are your thoughts? Do you think this is different than using guard dogs? Should the navy do more to protect wild populations of cetaceans (whales & dolphins) and pinnipeds (seals & sea lions)?

What do you think about this Lee?
Lee Welles-author says:
I find it interesting how quick humans are to make nature our “partner” to get what we think we need; but are so unwilling to make changes to become nature’s partner and supporter.
It would be different in the sea lions figured out we needed the help and offered! Have you heard of orca’s doing this with 19th century whalers? I’m going to see if I can find some info on that to post ont the blog.

The account allows you to comment. Although, lately, the Gaia Girls bloggers haven’t been around as much!
