8:30PM TONIGHT!
I am so excited to participate in Earth Hour!! I plan to read my draft of Gaia Girls Air Apparent to my hubby. I just changed some things and I would like for him to check out the changes. If the sky is clear, I will look for Venus and Mars and the waxing gibbous moon. After all, if everyone turns out their lights, you will see the night sky much better!
What are you doing for Earth Hour 2010? Telling stories? Reading by candlelight? Writing a letter by light of a moonbeam?
During that hour, pasue to imagine how Earth Hour looks as it moves all about the globe. This is what it looks like when millions of people peacefully show their concern for the planet. I think Gaia digs it!
Enjoy the video and let me know what you’re doing or what you did!

My sister and I were just joking around and decided I should add, “Don’t participate in Earth Hour while driving. Headlights must remain on while car is in motion.” Hehehe!

My mom JUST got home from Key West. The three of us played Scrabble by candlelight! (Pictures coming) Mom crushed us both. She asked if it were easier losing in the dark! Smarty pants.

I was so excited about being able to participat, but I was out all day yesterday. We went shopping for furniture for my room and then we went and saw Alice in wonderland (best movie ever!). I turned off all the lights and electronics in the house while we were out to make up for it.
Alice in Wonderland isn’t based on the book by Lewis Caroll, nor is it based on Through the Looking Glass, her other book. It’s actually based on a book called Seeing Redd (that’s really how it’s spelled) by Frank Beddor. I think they the movie Alice in Wonderland because most people have never heard of Seeing Redd, but most people have heard of Alice in Wonderland.

oops….
I think they CALLED the movie Alice in Wonderland because most people have never heard of Seeing Redd, but most people have heard of Alice in Wonderland.
Lee Welles-author says:
I haven’t seen the movie yet. And I didn’t know about SEeing Redd, so thanks for the tip!

Okay, I read more reviews of the book and I retract my last comment. The book is based off f Alice in Wonderland, but does not fit the plot of the movie. Although Seeing Redd does not fit the plot of the movie, neither do either of Lewis Caroll’s books. Seeing Redd is actually the second book in the series (Looking Glass Wars Trilogy). If you want to read more about Seeing Redd and the Looking Glass Trilogy, I found a site that has a large review on it.

P.S. this a wikipedia site , so if you have anything against wikipedia don’t click on the link.

Thanks for the wiki link! No I REALLY want to read Seeing Red/Looking Glass Trilogy.
When I was young I read an awesome “adaptation” type story about Alice and Wonderland and Nursery Rhyme wars and such…can’t remember what it was though…

Yeah, I really want to too, but I have been delayed for two reasons. For one reason, I don’t have the first book (The Looking Glass Wars) but iIdo have Seeing Redd, the second book. The second reason is that I am Caught in the middle of a truelly awesome series called Children of the Lamp. I’m on book three right now.

I just watched The Cove, and the only thing that comes to mind is WOW. It is a real eye-opener. Especially the part they see after they have installed all the hidden cameras.
